Thoughts on the 2016 Ban.do Agenda

Most people that know me know at least one thing about me – I love office supplies. This could be for a number of reasons, but for as long as I can remember I’ve hoarded pens & writing utensils, notebooks, planners, and pretty much all other office supplies one would and would not need. When I was younger, school supply shopping was my favorite day of the year.

I can also remember getting a planner for school, using it half the year, and insisting that I needed another. For what reason? You know, things. Well, not much has changed. I still hoard office supplies and purchase multiple planners a year. The only thing that has changed, is that now I am an adult and can shop for “school supplies” (since they will always be school supplies in my eyes) all year round and no one can say a thing (like, “do you really need that?”) about it!

2016 Bando Agenda Review - Noodoso

I’ve had my eye on Ban.do agendas, but didn’t get around to ordering one until this year. I ordered the Large Florabunda 17-Month Agenda back in July and started using it August 1st when it began. Let’s take a step back for a moment. When I first saw this planner I just about fell over dead. Dramatic? Yes. Accurate? Yes (ish). The colors on this thing are GORGEOUS! And for only $28, how could I not pick it up??

The number of people I know that obsess over the perfect planner elements are countless. So I knew I had to write up a little review for those of you that are thinking about picking this up in the future! Since it’s a 17-month agenda, you could easily order it to begin using in January and it would still be well worth the money!

Planner bands are a must for me. I like to have something holding the book together so pages don’t get bent or ripped if I throw it in my bag. A total personal preference here, but I’m not crazy about the band on this planner. It does the job, but I can’t stand the scratchy material and how thin/flimsy it is. But of course, not a deal breaker type thing, just thoughts.

2016 Bando Agenda Review - Noodoso

Yes: I love the colorful design of this agenda. My life has been taken over by neutrals recently and I love the fun pops of color it brings to my days. I’m also all about the amount of room it has. If you want a weekly (not daily) planner with a lot of room for each day, this will definitely give you that!

No: Biggest pet peeve – monthly tabs that aren’t laminated. EWW! I could get crafty and laminate them myself, but ain’t nobody got time for that. And – There’s actually too much white space on these pages. It leaves for a very messy and unorganized feel, no matter how much I work my planner decorating magic. It just feels all over the place.

Would I recommend it? Yes! If the things in the no section aren’t a big deal to you, get on ordering this pretty thing!! What about you? Do you have this agenda? Tell me what you think in the comments below and let us know if you would recommend it!

xo, Suzanna

  • I got the smaller version because it’s easier to throw in my purse. I actually like the white space, as I opted to use the month view for my schedule, and the week view as more of a journal. I fell in love the moment that I saw it! I would definitely recommend both versions… Still thinking about picking up the larger one, too!

    • So true! I was thinking about getting the "I’m So Busy" small agenda to throw in my purse. The size is perfect! That’s actually what I’ve started using this one for – journaling. The white space is perfect for it!
Thanks for reading and sharing your thoughts, Terin! xo

  • I’m totally with you on the hoarding of office supplies! I’ve been eyeing these for awhile and I’m really considering ordering one now after reading this post! Thanks for the review!

  • I’m debating ordering one of these or not just because I am worried about the spiral binding falling apart. Every time I have used a Lilly planner the front or back hard cover fell off because the binding was just terrible! I’ve been using a Spartina 449 planner and have absolutely loved the quality and the make, but I saw the Ban.do colors and thought it was fun and might just switch it up a bit. Since you’ve been using yours for awhile how has it held up?

    • To be completely honest, I ended up passing mine along to a friend after a few months. The horizontal layout just wasn’t working for me. But maybe I can help a little – The coil is really sturdy! If you’ll be taking it in and out of a bag often, it may bend easily and get a little funky shaped after a while. The cover is super thick and will definitely stand up to normal wear and tear (and also travel). It is a paper-based cover so it may dent and will stain easier than a plastic cover, but I don’t see it being an issue unless you’re really beating it up. The pages are easy to turn, but are a little thin. If you’ll be adding anything to the planner, it may put stress on the square holes that hold the pages to the coil, and they will rip easier. I also noticed that occasionally the pages would snag and be harder to turn/wouldn’t lay flat.

Honestly, if you’re just looking for a planner for your desk or something to use as a journal, I totally recommend it! These comments are most likely things the average person wouldn’t notice, and probably wouldn’t affect you unless you were doing some serious traveling with your planner, or until closer to the end of your time using it. They have super fun patterns and colors, I would say go for it!

I hope this helps! Thanks for reading Kelsey! xo

  • I unfortunately have a complaint… although i do love this new daily planner. I bought the big blue/green ”I’ am Very Busy” planner ( $40). The 2016 Sept has the last day of the 21st as the last day of the month then the rest is in the October dates… not sure if you have had any of the same problems but thought i would share this small but inconvenient issue.
Everything else is so cute and fun.
