I was so excited to see such a great response to the first “Out & About” post! Today I’m sharing a look at Alfred Tea Room in Los Angeles. The combination of pale pink, rust, and greenery is enough to make anyone fall in love.
Boy oh boy do I love a good coffee shop! I’m so excited to introduce my Out & About series, where I will share my favorite food/drink establishments.
This series is going to be so fun. I love sharing recipes with you, but I also love trying the food and drinks served at different places around town or where I travel!
Every year, Cody and I go on a little trip with his parents during for Fourth of July weekend. While we’re away, we also celebrate his mom’s birthday and just relax while spending time together. Last year, we went to San Diego and continued that tradition this year as well.
We stayed at the Marriott Marquis (like last year) and had a view of both the city and the bay, which was perfect for fireworks! On the night of 4th of July, we were able to see 4 different fireworks shows at once, all from our balcony.
As on all our vacations, we filled our time walking around, drinking beer and coffee, eating, and relaxing. Definitely my kind of trip!Read More
I’m back after a much needed holiday break to share a little about my trip to Florida! I know, I know – I’ve been back for two months, what the heck have I been doing? Honestly, I was just totally intimidated by the 600+ photos and the amount of stuff I wanted to share. Luckily, the two month break between my trip and sharing really helped narrow it all down!
For those of you that don’t know what I’m talking about, here’s a little bit more about it all. – At the beginning of November, my bestie Whitney asked me if I would like to join her in Boca Raton, Florida….. in TWO weeks! It was last minute, but was one of the easiest yeses I’ve ever given! So I bought a plane ticket, packed up, and went to Florida (for the first time!).
We stayed at the Waldorf Astoria Boca Raton Resort & Club. It was amazing! I truly cannot say enough great things about the resort, the staff, and the entire experience. Not to mention, it was basically like staying in a pink castle, I mean look at it!
We spent the weekend attending cocktail parties, eating hotel food in bed, trying all the restaurants, taking a million photos, exploring, and so much more. Basically, it was the ultimate girls’ weekend! – AND! I got to touch the Atlantic Ocean for the very first time!
I am so grateful that Whitney asked me to join her on this fun adventure! – I’ll be back soon Florida!
Okay y’all, things are about to get real. I’m as much of a taco lover as they come – I take my tacos very seriously. When I was in Florida, Whitney took me to Bartaco in Hyde Park Village. Not only is the shopping village the cutest, but I just about died and went to heaven when we actually got to Bartaco to eat.
We ordered chips and guac, a few tacos, and of course, margs! Not only is their food delicious (and super GF/DF friendly), but they make a mean margarita! I ordered a pork belly taco and a mahi mahi taco. SO. MUCH. YUM!
The staff was all very friendly and attentive. They answered all my questions about modifying my meal to make it GF/DF (which wasn’t very much modifying and their menu has “GF” clearly marked), not to mention I just loved their uniforms. That’s an odd thing to notice, but they were all wearing white jeans, blue converse, and a blue gingham top – so simple and relaxed. (And totally something I would wear on the daily. haha)
The whole experience was so relaxing and welcoming. Now that you know I love this place, I just need to figure out how to convince Bartaco to open a California location (or seven). In the mean time, I guess I’ll just have to go visit Whit to get my Bartaco on!
Have you been to another Bartaco location? What did you think of it? Oh! And what did you order? I need to know what I should order next time I go!
