San Diego, California | 2016

Every year, Cody and I go on a little trip with his parents during for Fourth of July weekend. While we’re away, we also celebrate his mom’s birthday and just relax while spending time together. Last year, we went to San Diego and continued that tradition this year as well.

We stayed at the Marriott Marquis (like last year) and had a view of both the city and the bay, which was perfect for fireworks! On the night of 4th of July, we were able to see 4 different fireworks shows at once, all from our balcony.

As on all our vacations, we filled our time walking around, drinking beer and coffee, eating, and relaxing. Definitely my kind of trip!

I love getaways that I am too busy having fun and enjoying my time to think about taking photos of everything. This was definitely one of those weekends and I noticed that even though I wasn’t actively seeking things to take photos of like I do at times, I ended up with photos of all my favorite things from the trip. I like knowing that I was taking photos because I want to remember the moment and not specifically because I want to post it on Instagram or share it on the blog. πŸ™‚

Remember Nancy from last year? I couldn’t help but take another photo of her. She’s my favorite! πŸ™ˆ

We were in town for a total of 5 days and had so much fun! It’s always nice visiting a place you’ve been before because you can take it slow instead of trying to cram everything in a short period of time. I loved being able to visit a few places I’ve had on my list since last year, and even go back to one of them (James Coffee Co.) a few different times while in town.

I’m already looking forward to our next getaway and can’t wait to share our adventures with you!
